Perhaps the corruption happens because no one knows how to handle any given situation. Then, rather than admit we don't know what to do, we create enemies. When we have enemies, we can always sound like we know what we're doing and are busy protecting the right way, or the right belief. The truth is we're seeking power over others. And the best way is to create fear, hence enemies.
